after doing the former, leave a small comment containing your thoughts! thanks! |

I don't know. I gave up meat two fridays ago, and I feel better already. having irritable bowel syndrome + eating lots of meat = lots of pain. that and I've always been morally opposed to eating it. also, I've been watching a lot of anime lately. serial experiments: lain, escaflowne, and haibane renmei are all very good. not a whole lot else is going on, really. writing music as usual, smoking cigarettes as usual, being content as usual.
it's a wonderful life. |

| | Brandenburg by Beirut | ] | today all I really did was play guitar and smoke american spirits out in the forest at my dad's. he's got some really beautiful land. it reminds me that farming pretty much destroys all of the beauty in rural areas. (I live on a farm at my mom's, and around me is nothing but shit-filled pastures and fields of shitty tasting corn for cows.) I was going to go walk through the forest further to a small pond that I would go and catch frogs in in my youth, but then I recalled hearing a gun shot earlier, so I decided not to. I also had to help my dad clear some trees out so that he can expand his garden during the summer time, and now my back is fucking killing me. it hurts just to move my torso. all right.
side note: I'm drinking this beverage called "green goodness," made by bolthouse farms (since 1915[!]), and it's incredible. here are some of the ingredients: wheat grass, barley grass, spirulina, spinach, blue green algae, odorless garlic, broccoli, jerusalem artichoke, nova scotia dulce, mango, banana, kiwi, dragon fruit, tamarind, and apple. it's the best thing I've ever drank in my life, except for maybe like mango nectar from this spanish market in milwaukee. I dunno; it's quite the toss up!
side side note: I've abandoned my aspiration to set my mood to weird words that I can't define. this is partly due to the fact that the number of words that livejournal provides that I don't know the meaning of is dismal, but also I'm just lazy. sorry to all zero people who read this thing. |

| | The Pineapple vs. the Watermelon by Xiu Xiu | ] | today in pulaski news I wrote some lyrics to turn into a little ghosts song. it's called "sutter's mill, 1848" and it goes a little something like this. it's for everyone who's ever felt the sting of unrequited love.
your heart I know is true gold and mine it must be fool's gold. I promise that if you say yes it will be different, OH! I promise that this time things will be different.
I know your mind is true gold and mine it must be black gold. you dream of lions lying down with lambs I dream of clocks with rifles in their hands but I promise that (oh, I assure you, OH!) I can promise that things will be different, oh!
wish I could promise that we are no different.
ps: I dun' know what good meanz. |

| | Hold Up by Girl Talk | ] | first of all I have no idea what being "chipper" means but as with all of the most crucial elements of the human psyche it can be expressed through emoticon which in this case is a smiley. this leads me to believe that it means I'm happy. shit, LJ's like a psychiatrist or some shit 'cause that's soooo dead onnnnn!
anyway, in other news: - little ghosts haven't been doing much these days. we've got a practice scheduled for next tuesday though so hopefully that'll be changing. - I saw of montreal with sean last weekend. trent, conrad, and evan were also in attendance. many cigarettes were smoked and many bodies rocked. - shit. I'm happy. - girl talk = cool. I don't care what your pretentious indie self says. |

| | The Man of Metropolis Steals our Hearts by Sufjan Stevens | ] | It's been like a month or whatever since I updated last, so I guess I'll let you guys in on a couple things: 1) I got a job at figaro's pizza/cousin's subs/chocolate shoppe ice cream on friday. I hate having to become a cog in the machine, but I'm buying a car really soon. And I get my license in october, too, so I should probably be considering having a steady income for paying for gas and stuff. All right, moving on... 2) Everyone should mosey on over to the shawano county fair, located at 255 south wakeshon street, this monday. Little Ghosts will be playing at high noon, along with Sah Alente` Psuedo, Loss of One, and the Darkest of White. It'll cost you a whole 4 dollars to get in, along with 4 dollars per vehicle to park. We hope to see some of you there. 3) It's my last weekend of summer vacation, and I'm spending it in my bedroom at my dad's house in waupaca. This totally rocks. And to make it even more awesome, he's really depressed with his job and low wages, so he's complaining about how much he hates his life and stuff all the time. It's really quite saddening. 4) The idea that I'll be back in school for reasons other than pulaski news come tuesday does not sit well with me.
PS: I realize that I misled all of you when I said I had only a couple things to let you guys in on. I apologize with utmost sincerity. PPS: I still haven't gotten any less awesome. |

The object of the game, from what I've gathered in my two hours of playing thus far, is to 'snag' shadow pokemon, which are pokemon that have had their souls altered to make them evil, from trainers that you encounter in battle. Then you're supposed to battle with the shadow pokemon and purify their souls again and stuff.
I'm still awesome. |

| | The Days Before Fiction by Mice Parade | ] | Captain's log: Day two in baltimore. I'm bored as hell. Bought some albums at a record store today. The little town square area is cool and all with the cobblestone streets and the mariner's saloons, but it still smells like feces, which is uncool. Quite uncool indeed. The house I'm staying in is huge. It was built in 1908 and it's on the top of a hill. If you walk down the slope a bit you'll see this abandoned chapel from the very early 1900s. It's still got a pile of firewood, a cauldron, dishes, chairs, and a mattress with what appears to be blood stains on it. I'll try to get some photos of it up on here tomorrow or something, because being in it was probably one of the eeriest experiences of my life. I've been working on a song too. Here's what I've got so far: When she gets down on her knees, it ain't for some higher power, except a gritty line of coke or a few dirty dollars. And when he told her that he loved her, she was a little less than sober. Walked to his apartment- a lamb led to the slaughter. |

Damn. I actually made an entry with substance. Y'all had better like, worship me or something. Maybe at least a celebratory comment or two? All right, back to the 9 to 5.

One of the guys I'm working with, on our first day, decided to play "Working for the Weekend" by Loverboy on one of the computers (and he was actually enjoying it), so I may have to kill a little before my working environment can become more suitable. |
